In early Wednesday results, former President Donald Trump gained ground towards a potential return to the White House, securing North Carolina and leading in Georgia. These states are among seven critical battlegrounds that could shape the election outcome. Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign manager reminded Democrats that votes were still being counted in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin — the so-called “Blue Wall” states. If Harris loses any of these, her path to victory narrows significantly.

As of now, over half of U.S. states have been called. Besides North Carolina, Trump won key states like Florida, Ohio, and Texas, along with other strongholds in the South. Harris, meanwhile, carried several Northeast states, including New York and her home state of California.

Republicans also reclaimed control of the Senate, further boosting Trump’s momentum

Trump Expected to Address Supporters

Trump is set to address supporters soon at the Palm Beach Convention Center. Although he hasn’t yet reached the 270 electoral votes needed, he may come close in his speech.

Harris Wins New York

Kamala Harris secured New Hampshire, gaining 4 electoral votes. Although a Democratic stronghold since 1992, New Hampshire is often pivotal during primary seasons.

Harris Campaign Holds Out Hope for “Blue Wall”

The Harris campaign remains hopeful about sweeping the Blue Wall states. Campaign chair Jen O’Malley Dillon highlighted promising turnout in key areas like Philadelphia and Detroit, as well as uncounted votes in Wisconsin’s Dane and Milwaukee counties.

Key Wins and Other Updates:

Georgia: Trump has won Georgia, flipping it back to the GOP after it went blue in 2020. He gains 16 electoral votes.

Utah Governor Race: Republican Spencer Cox won re-election after changing his stance to support Trump.

Nebraska’s “Blue Dot”: Harris secured Nebraska’s 2nd Congressional District, adding 1 electoral vote.

Washington Governor: Democrat Bob Ferguson defeated Republican Dave Reichert.

Florida Ballot Measure: Amendment 4, which would enshrine abortion rights in Florida’s constitution, failed with 57% approval, short of the 60% needed.
