Trump's $10 billion lawsuit against CBS News

US presidential candidate Donald Trump filed a $10 billion lawsuit against CBS News.

Republican presidential candidate Trump filed this case in the federal court of the Northern District of Texas on Thursday (October 31) local time.

The case arose out of an interview of Democratic candidate Kamala Harris aired on the channel's '60 Minutes' program.

The lawsuit filed in federal court alleges the interview was misleading.

It claims CBS aired two different answers to a question about the Israel-Hamas war.

However, the channel denied the allegations. In a statement, CBS said Kamala Harris was interviewed for their 'Face the Nation' program which aired on October 7. A short segment of Kamala Harris' answer to a question about the Israel-Hamas war was aired on 60 Minutes.

CBS also claimed that the interview was shortened because there were other issues to be highlighted on the '60 Minutes' program. So the allegations that Trump is making are not true, said a spokesperson for CBS News.

Trump has demanded $10 billion in damages in the lawsuit.

Trump is regularly criticizing the CBS channel about the Kamala Harris interview.

He also threatened to cancel the license of CBS if elected.

Trump agreed to be interviewed on 60 Minutes, CBS says. But later he withdrew from that decision.

Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are in a tight battle in opinion polls ahead of the US presidential election.
