Bengals QB Joe Burrow Scores Career-Long 47-Yard Rushing Touchdown"

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — Joe Burrow recorded his longest run as a pro during "Sunday Night Football" against the New York Giants. Facing a third-and-18 near midfield, Burrow audibled at the line of scrimmage. Upon receiving the shotgun snap, he saw an opening on the right side of the field and took off.

Burrow raced toward the end zone, diving past Giants safety Jason Pinnock to score and give the Cincinnati Bengals a 7-0 lead with 11:32 left in the first quarter. The 47-yard run surpassed his previous career-long of 23 yards. His last run of similar length was a 59-yarder for LSU against Georgia in 2018.

Burrow’s run was a surprising display of athleticism, as he is better known for his passing than his rushing ability. The play came at a pivotal moment, with the Bengals needing a big conversion on third-and-long. Burrow's decision to run caught the Giants defense off guard, as they were primarily focused on defending against the pass.

His awareness and quick decision-making turned a potential punt situation into a momentum-shifting touchdown. The score set the tone early, giving Cincinnati an early advantage on the road. Burrow's mobility and ability to extend plays continue to be a key part of his evolving game, adding another dimension to his already impressive skill set as a quarterback.

This run not only boosted his team's morale but also sent a message to opposing defenses that Burrow can be dangerous with his legs as well as his arm.
