Former President Donald Trump took on an unexpected role Sunday afternoon in Pennsylvania, serving as a fry cook at a McDonald's while taking jabs at Vice President Kamala Harris.
"Hello, everybody. It's my first day at McDonald's; I'm looking for a job," Trump joked as he greeted the restaurant owner. Crowds of Trump supporters surrounded the McDonald's as he spent the afternoon cooking and serving fries, claiming he worked longer at McDonald's than Harris, who he accused of fabricating her work experience at the fast-food chain.
"I've worked 15 minutes more than Kamala at McDonald's," Trump quipped while handing orders through the drive-thru window.
Fox News Digital’s Brooke Singman joined Trump during his shift, reporting that he was in good spirits, interacting with customers, and genuinely helping with the cooking and serving.
"I love McDonald's, I love jobs, and I believe it's wrong when people exaggerate their work experience," Trump said. He referred to Harris' work history while praising McDonald's jobs as a vital part of many Americans’ lives.
As Trump handed out food and spoke to supporters, he emphasized his commitment to improving the country if re-elected. "Look at how happy people are. They want hope, and that’s what we're going to give—more than hope—we’re going to make America better," Trump said.
Derek Giacomantonio, the owner of the Feasterville McDonald's, expressed pride in hosting Trump. "As a small business owner, I believe in opening our doors to everyone. This visit highlights the importance of the job experience that 1 in 8 Americans have had at McDonald's. As a former crew member, I know this job is more than just burgers and fries; it’s an opportunity," Giacomantonio said. He added that Pennsylvania franchisees provide over 25,000 jobs across the state.
One surprised customer, originally from Brazil, expressed her concerns to Trump. "Please don’t let the United States become like Brazil," she pleaded. Trump assured her, "We're going to make it better than ever."
Following Trump's shift, a spokesperson for the Harris-Walz 2024 campaign, Joseph Costello, criticized the event, claiming it was a staged photo op. "Today, Donald Trump showed exactly what a second term would look like—exploiting workers for his gain. Trump doesn’t understand what it's like to work for a living, no matter how many stunts he pulls. Vice President Harris has a proven record of standing up for workers, and she'll continue to do so as President," Costello said.
With just 15 days left until Election Day, Trump spent the day campaigning in Pennsylvania, including a town hall in Lancaster and a visit to Pittsburgh for the Steelers-Jets game.
