Days after celebrating his wedding anniversary, Artem Chigvintsev, a pro on DWTS, was arrested for domestic violence.
On Thursday morning, Artem Chigvintsev, a professional dancer on "Dancing with the Stars," was arrested around 9:40 a.m. for domestic violence, in violation of California Penal Code Section 273.5(a) PC, according to records reviewed by Fox News Digital. This statute refers to domestic violence involving corporal injury to a spouse, cohabitant, or parent of one's child. Chigvintsev, who married "Total Divas" star Nikki Bella in 2022, was booked an hour later at 10:40 a.m., with bail set at $25,000.
At this time, it is unclear whether Bella, whose legal name is Nikki Garcia, was involved in the incident. Representatives for Chigvintsev, Bella, and "Dancing with the Stars" have not yet responded to requests for comment. Additionally, Fox News reports that there were no plans for Chigvintsev to participate in the upcoming 33rd season of "Dancing with the Stars."
The arrest came just two days after Bella celebrated their two-year wedding anniversary with a heartfelt Instagram post. She shared a video montage from their wedding day, set to "Can't Help Falling in Love," and reflected on the moment she realized she was falling in love with Chigvintsev. "It all felt too fast, but then this song came on, and I knew it was meant to be," she wrote.
Chigvintsev also marked the occasion on social media, posting, "Happy anniversary my love, can’t see my life without you. You are my everything."
The couple, who met in 2017 while partnered on season 25 of "DWTS," share a four-year-old son, Matteo. Bella was previously engaged to John Cena, but they called off their engagement in 2018. Bella and Chigvintsev got engaged in 2019 during a trip to Paris, and they welcomed their son the following year.
In the past, Bella has been open about struggles in their relationship, particularly dealing with postpartum depression, which she discussed on her podcast, "The Bellas," in 2020. Bella admitted that her struggles sometimes strained their marriage, saying, "At times, I felt like I was being mean to him, and it made him feel terrible."
